If we are so different as individuals, why is it that we often have the same dream meanings? Why is it that we find ourselves having some of the same dreams in the first place? We are supposed to be unique. So why do we have the same dreams? And even further, why do we have the very same dream meanings? There are so many dream symbols that we all experience that tend to have consistent dream meanings. There are several plausible reasons as to why that is so. Not to worry, just because you have the same dream symbols as someone else does not take away from how special you are as an individual.
1. Just as former couple and R&B stars Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown sings in the chorus of, “Something in Common,” we as people do have things in common. As the song implies opposites do attract. There are things that we have in common with other people. One of those things is the dream meanings that we share. We will see the same dream symbols in our dreams because as unique as we may be, there are many things that we still have in common. This just shows that we are able to relate to each other on many levels.
2. We have the same dream symbols and associated dream meanings as individuals because if there is someone that is trying to communicate with us during a dream, usually a deceased loved one, they will appear in dream symbols that are usually consistent. Many times, if we have the same dream symbols in a dream as someone else, there will be the same dream meanings as well.
3. Although dream symbols will revert to some of the same dream meanings amongst most people, there is still an element that makes the dream experience unique to each unique individual. You and someone you know may have the same exact dream symbols in a dream, but there may be two totally different dream meanings. “How is that possible?” – one might ask. This is quite possible, and often true. There are usually a negative and a positive way to see dream symbols that have been revealed to you. As your dream symbols may be an indicator of something good that will happen in your life, your friend may have dream symbols that reflect something bad that is going on in his or her life. You may see the same type of image, but if there is some kind of struggle or turmoil, the dream symbols can have one of the negative dream meanings associated with it.
4. Another reason we have the same dream symbols appear in our dreams is because it is an indication that you are not alone. After all, there is the possibility that you would have the same dream meanings as someone else, so know that you share the same experiences as others.
